2016 – 2017 Season Wrap Up

The 2016-2017 Millbrook Wrestling season culminated with the NCHSAA State Tournament a couple weeks ago.  Millbrook advanced one wrestler, Matt Engel (182 lbs), to the State Tournament this year.  This was Matt’s second straight appearance on the State level.

Millbrook ended the season with a 9-7 dual record (4-3 Cap-VIII Conference).  We celebrated the successes of this past season last night at the year-end banquet.

• Most Pins, Matt Engel (32) – breaks a 17 year pin record!
• JV Wrestler of the Year, Trevion Hadley & Koa Weatherspoon & Luis Banda
• Most Improved, Alex Samuelson
• Rookie of the Year, Will Saby
• Wrestler of the Year, Matt Engel
• Conference Champions, Matt Engel & Will Saby
• All Conference, Will Saby & Chris Engel & Matt Engel & Ty Smith
