The Wildcat wrestlers traveled to Middle Creek High School to face off against the Falcons from Green Hope High School in an out-of-conference dual match. Millbrook controlled the match from start to finish, not giving the Falcons any hope for victory.
Millbrook took charge early with back-to-back wins by twins Chris and Jonathan Medina at 113 lbs and 120 lbs. The Wildcats were without regular 120 lb senior Nick Norton due to injury. Freshman Jordan Gailey followed with a win by pinfall at 126 lbs. A familiar face back on the mat for the Wildcats was senior Angelo O’Briant at 132 lbs who quickly dispatched his opponent by first period pinfall.
Green Hope forfeited at both 138 lbs and 145 lbs and the match traded pinfalls with Peter Neuenschwander for Millbrook winning at 152 lbs and Devante Robinson dropping his match by pinfall at 160 lbs. Senior Jonathan Woodbury put on a takedown clinic at 170 lbs and ended up winning by technical fall in the second period. The Wildcats dropped the match at 182 lbs as Matthew Flores couldn’t fight off his back against a tough Falcon opponent.
The teams traded forfeits at the 195 lb and 220 lb weightclasses.
Quintavian Baynes lost a hard fought battle at 285 lbs by a one-point decision. The match concluded with the lightweights at 106 lbs. After six minutes of wrestling, Crayton Saby came away with the 7-1 decision, handing his opponent his second loss on the season.
