The snow couldn’t stop the 4A Mideast Regional Tournament from moving forward as planned this year! Although the tournament’s start was delayed by one day, it ended Sunday evening with two Millbrook wrestlers advancing to next weekend’s State Tournament in Greensboro, NC. At 182 pounds, Millbrook’s Dillon Dawkins finished in first place in the 4A Mideast region. He worked his way through the regional bracket in dominating fashion, with his only non-pinfall victory coming in his semi-final match versus his opponent from Sanderson. Dillon has earned his #1 overall seed at this weekend’s State Tournament and will wrestle Kaleel Gainey from Jordan High School in the first round.
Crayton Saby finished in second place at 106 pounds. He advanced through the semi-final round with an exciting overtime victory over his opponent from Green Hope. Crayton will wrestle Ryan Keefe from Providence High School in the first round of this weekend’s State Tournament.
Congratulations Crayton and Dillon and good luck this weekend in Greensboro!
